Young Black Scholars

NAUW Culver City President Helen Ricks Greets Dr. Rita Sawyer, Assistant Provost, Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science.

The Culver City Branch continues to partner with Young Black Scholars in 2013. Young Black Scholars is a college preparatory program under the Direction of Dr. Virginia Hathaway, who is also a member of the Culver City Branch.

The Health Careers Conference was held on Saturday, December 14, 2013, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science. It was sponsored by 100 Black Men of Los Angeles. Several medical professionals addressed the students about careers in Health care. The topics discussed included “Diagnoses Through Different Eyes” and ”The Patient Team – Doctor Who?”
